El imputado o su defensor, durante la investigación, podrán buscar, identificar empíricamente, recoger y embalar los elementos materiales probatorios y evidencia física. Con la solicitud para que sean examinados y la constancia de la Fiscalía de que es imputado o defensor de este, los trasladarán al respectivo laboratorio del Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses, donde los entregarán bajo recibo.
