Se rechazó por infundada la solicitud de nulidad de la Sentencia C-955/00, instaurada por el ciudadano de la referencia toda vez que no se configuró en el caso de la mencionada providencia la violación al debido proceso a que alude el peticionario, pues la cosa juzgada constitucional se había configurado respecto del UPAC y no del UVR, que aunque fue concebido para reemplazar lo primero, no por ello puede afirmarse que existe una total identidad entre las dos.
La primera vez en que la Corte Constitucional tuvo oportunidad de pronunciarse sobre la figura de las unidades de valor real fue a propósito del proceso que culminó con la Sentencia cuya nulidad se solicita, luego en ella mal podría haberse considerado siquiera el cargo de que la normatividad enjuiciada podía haber vulnerado el principio de la cosa juzgada.
