Son deberes de los Guardas

Cumplir las órdenes que sobre el servicio les impartan los Inspectores, o en su ausencia, los Telegrafistas.

Recorrer sus trayectos semanalmente, a efecto de llevar a cabo una revisión cuidadosa; reclavar los postes, cambiar los aisladores dañados, mantener despejadas las trochas, y hacer las podas de árboles que sean necesarias para evitar contactos con las líneas, y en general, llevar a cabo todos los trabajos inherentes a la correcta conservación de las líneas.
