Los estudiantes de los establecimientos de educación básica secundaria que sean escogidos para formar parte de selecciones a los torneos de los Centros Deportivos Piloto CEDEP, deberán recibir una supervisión médica deportiva específica, a cargo del Instituto Colombiano de la Juventud y el Deporte (Coldeportes) y de las Juntas Administradoras Seccionales de Deportes de su jurisdicción, cuya frecuencia no puede ser inferior a uno por año. Igual exigencia se hará a los estudiantes participantes en los Centros Deportivos de la Educación Superior CEDES.
