La Medalla "Al Profesor", se conferirá a los miembros de las Fuerzas Militares que tengan el título de "Profesor" Militar de primera categoría y a los empleados públicos del Ministerio Defensa al servicio de ellas, que obtengan el mismo título y un tiempo mínimo de tres (3) años de servicio como profesor de tiempo completo o cinco (5) años de tiempo incompleto y además que para todos los casos sean propuestos por el Director o Comandante del Instituto Militar o Escuela donde presten sus servicios.
