La Nación se asocia a la conmemoración del trisesquicentenario de fundación del Municipio de Mahates en el Departamento de Bolívar, hecho ocurrido el 23 de agosto de 1533, por el Adelantado Don Pedro de Heredia, Fundador también de Cartagena de Indias, y relieva el espíritu progresista de sus habitantes.
