Art. 12. Siempre que los Capitanes vieren varado algún buque, o en peligro de perderse, o que tuvieren noticia que ha acaecido fracaso, deberán ocurrir prontamente con sus lanchas, tripulaciones i demas objetos necesarios para darle socorro, i harán que su jente trabaje como si el buque varado fuese propio, haciendo cuanto les sea posible para ponerlo a flote, facilitando sus embarcaciones para salvar la carga. & por la infraccion a esta disposicion incurre el capitan en una multa de $ 200.
