El Fondo de Garantía de Prendas de Ahorro de la Fuerza de Policía estará formado por el descuento del 5% del sueldo de cada Agente en servicio activo. Dicho porcentaje se descontará mensualmente en las Contadurías de la Fuerza de Policía, y se consignará en la Caja General de dicha Fuerza, a más tardar el diez (10) del mes siguiente al del descuento. El Fondo de Garantía y Prendas de Ahorros, tiene carácter devolutivo y en consecuencia, se entregará a quienes se retiren, o sean retirados del servicio activo, y estén a paz y salvo por concepto de las prendas oficiales que les fueron confiadas. Las cuotas del Fondo de Garantías de Prendas y Ahorro, no devengaran intereses.
