La Sociedad Colombiana de Economistas, será un órgano consultor del Gobierno Nacional en todos los niveles, en la elaboración y ejecución de los planes y programas de desarrollo social y económico. En las comisiones que integre para este fin, debe incluir un representante de la Sociedad Colombiana de Economistas y las respectivas asociaciones regionales lo serán a nivel regional, departamental, municipal y distrital.
