ARTICULO 159 . A partir de la fecha existirá un Sistema único de Medicina Legal y Ciencias forenses en todo el territorio nacional, el cual será organizado y controlado por el Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses. Sin embargo los servicios médico legales departamentales y municipales que funcionan actualmente, continuarán siendo prestados por estas instituciones hasta el 31 de Diciembre de 1992 A partir del 1 de enero de 1993 pasarán con sus recursos humanos, físicos, económicos y financieros al Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses.
