Para que puedan ser distinguidos los miembros de la Marina Mercante Nacional en cuanto a su profesión marítima o fluvial, dispónese que los galones para chaquetas, hombreras y carrilleras, para gorras deben usarse así: para marítimos, de diez milímetros (un centímetro) de ancho; para fluvial, de cinco milímetros (medio centímetro) de ancho.
