ARTICULO 84. Interrupción del término prescriptivo de la acción. La prescripción de la acción penal se interrumpe por el auto de proceder, o su equivalente, debidamente ejecutoriado. Interrumpida la prescripción, principiará a correr de nuevo por tiempo igual a la mitad del señalado en el Artículo 80. En este caso, el término no podrá ser inferior a cinco años.
