Las funciones de los Comandantes de las Regiones Militares, Zonas Navales, Aéreas y Zona del Interior son: En tiempo de paz , planear la movilización y coordinar con el Gobierno Civil el apoyo de las Fuerzas Militares. En tiempo de guerra , la ejecución de la movilización, el entrenamiento de reservas, la organización de los reemplazos, el apoyo logístico a las Unidades comprometidas y la dirección de la seguridad civil.
