Las Empresas Sociales del Estado creadas en el artículo anterior tienen por objeto la prestación de los servicios de salud, como servicio público esencial a cargo del Estado o como parte del servicio público de la seguridad social, en los términos del artículo 194 de la Ley 100 de 1993.
