ARTICULO 13. Control oficioso . Iniciado el trámite administrativo para la investigación y decisión relativas a infracciones aduaneras, los Jefes Regionales de Aduana, de inmediato, avisarán de tal hecho al Director General de Aduanas o sus delegados, o a la persona designada para el efecto, quienes podrán solicitar el envío de cualquier expediente con el fin de realizar el control de los trámites seguidos. La solicitud del envío del expediente suspende el término de ejecutoria si se ha proferido decisión definitiva de primera instancia.
