EL Instituto podrá liquidarse antes de expirar el término fijado para su duración cuando así lo acordare la Junta Directiva con el voto unánime de sus miembros, cuando haya perdido el 50% de su capital, o cuando así lo dispusiere la Superintendencia Bancaria. En los dos primeros casos corresponde a la Junta Directiva el nombramiento de liquidador, y la liquidación se someterá a las disposiciones legales pertinentes, y a lo que sobre el particular acuerde la Junta Directiva.
