Decreto 18710830 de 1871 · adicional al de 13 de enero de 1868, orgánico de la Universidad nacional, i por el cual se establece una Academia de Ciencias naturales.

Art. 5.° Los gabinetes de mineralojía, jeolojía i zoolojía, el herbario nacional i el laboratorio químico estarán a cargo de la Academia i serán custodiados bajo la responsabilidad solidaria de sus miembros.

Parágrafo

La inmediata inspeccion de estos establecimientos estará a cargo del Rector de la escuela de Ciencias naturales.

Parágrafo

Una comision de la Academia, presidida por su Director, recibirá por riguroso inventario estos objetos, i dará cuenta de ello al Poder Ejecutivo nacional.
