Dentro del año siguiente a la terminación del período de práctica, el funcionario deberá ser trasladado a un cargo en el exterior, en el ramo diplomático o en el consular, en la categoría que le corresponda. Los traslados se harán para proveer cargos vacantes definitivamente, y si no los hubiere, la autoridad nominadora reemplazará aquellos funcionarios que ocupen cargos de las categorías correspondientes y que no estén escalafonados.
