El idioma oficial en la actuación será el castellano.

El imputado, el acusado o la víctima serán asistidos por un traductor debidamente acreditado o reconocido por el juez en caso de no poder entender o expresarse en el idioma oficial; o por un intérprete en caso de no poder percibir el idioma por los órganos de los sentidos o hacerse entender oralmente. Lo anterior no obsta para que pueda estar acompañado por uno designado por él.
