Origen. Creada mediante Decreto 2066 de 2011, en categoría única, para premiar al personal de Oficiales, Suboficiales, Soldados y Civiles, que se destaquen en la recuperación de la paz, el orden y la democracia de la Nación, así como al personal militar en uso de buen retiro, a personalidades Nacionales y Extranjeras y entidades públicas o privadas que presten sus servicios meritorios en beneficio del Ejército Nacional.
