A la Junta Central de Higiene corresponde la reglamentación de la policía sanitaria, marítima y fluvial, así como la organización y reglamentación del servicio médico de sanidad en los puertos de la República. En estas disposiciones se tendrán en cuenta las Convenciones sanitarias internacionales que obligan a la Nación.
