Las Condecoraciones de las Ordenes podrán conferirse en el grado que corresponda como homenaje póstumo al personal militar y empleado público del Ministerio de Defensa que fallezca de muerte violenta sobrevenida por causa y con ocasión del servicio o en las mismas circunstancias en casos de calamidad doméstica.
