La conmemoración del día del guardián será ocasión especial para estimular el espíritu profesional, abnegación y esfuerzos de los Miembros del Cuerpo de Custodia y Vigilancia Penitenciaria Nacional. Ese día la guardia será relevada en su servicio por ejército o policía, de acuerdo con la coordinación que se haga con estas instituciones.
