Para cumplir con los fines y funciones que se le confían en virtud del Convenio sobre los Aspectos Civiles de la Sustracción Internacional de Menores y la Convención Interamericana sobre Restitución Internacional de Menores, la Autoridad Judicial que conozca del caso deberá informar sobre las actuaciones que se surtan dentro del proceso a la Autoridad Central, Dirección de Protección a través de la Subdirección de Adopciones del Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar, la cual tendrá libre acceso a las mismas con el fin de mantener informada a la Autoridad Central homóloga.
