Art. 374. Cuando alguno o algunos ciudadanos colombianos adquieran en propiedad algun buque que tenga derecho a ser rejistrado como buque nacional, i dicho buque se halle en otro puerto que en el que el dueño o dueños residen ordinariamente, tal buque puede ser rejistrado por el respectivo funcionario rejistrador del puerto donde el buque se halle al tiempo de adquirirlo aquéllos. Pero cuando el buque llegue al puerto en que residen el dueño o dueños, la patente será entregada al funcionario encargado del rejistro, so pena de pagar el dueño o dueños i el Capitan la multa de cien pesos. El encargado del rejistro, luego que se hayan cumplido los requisitos sobre rejistro de buques, espedirá una nueva patente en lugar de la que se le haya entregado, la cual será cancelada i devuelta inmediatamente al empleado que la habia espedido.
