Competencia Presidencial Para La Designación Del Reemplazo

Ley 768 de 2002 · por la cual se adopta el Régimen Político, Administrativo y Fiscal de los Distritos Portuario e Industrial de Barranquilla, Turístico y Cultural de Cartagena de Indias y Turístico, Cultural e Histórico de Santa Marta.

El Presidente de la República será la autoridad competente para suspender o destituir al alcalde distrital, designar al Alcalde encargado en casos de falta temporal o absoluta y convocar a elecciones para elegir el nuevo alcalde mayor, cuando ello sea procedente.

En todos los casos en que corresponda al Presidente de la República designar el reemplazo del alcalde, deberá escoger a un ciudadano que pertenezca al mismo partido o movimiento político del titular.
