La rebaja a la mitad del canon superficiario, consagrada en el aparte l de la letra b) del artículo 26 se decretará por el Ministerio de Minas y petróleos una vez vencida la respectiva anualidad y teniendo en cuenta los informes sobre los trabajos de perforación con taladro suministrados por el contratista, los que el Ministerio podrá verificar cuando lo estime conveniente de acuerdo con la facultad contenida en el artículo 7º. El concesionario que tenga derecho a la referida rebaja podrá, a su juicio, pedir que se le haga la correspondiente devolución en dinero o que se le abone la suma en cuestión al pago de la siguiente anualidad.
