Autorícese al Gobierno Nacional para que se creen cinco becas en su honor que cubran los gastos de educación superior. Las mismas serán reglamentadas por el Icetex, para que sean otorgadas por méritos bachilleres oriundos de la Guajira, de las cuales, tres serán departamentales, y dos especialmente asignadas a estudiantes de camarones.
