La Dirección de Sanidad tiene a su cargo la prestación de los servicios indispensables para mantener y mejorar el estado sanitario del personal de la Policía y de quienes tengan el derecho a estos servicios y el cumplimiento de las disposiciones sobre requisitos sicofísicos para ingreso y retiro de Ios miembros de la institución. A esta Dirección corresponde dirigir, supervisar y controlar el funcionamiento del hospital central y de las clínicas regionales.
