Instituto Nacional Penitenciario y Carcelario. El Instituto Nacional Penitenciario y Carcelario, Inpec, tiene como objeto ejercer la vigilancia, custodia, atención y tratamiento de las personas privadas de la libertad; la vigilancia y seguimiento del mecanismo de seguridad electrónica y de la ejecución del trabajo social no remunerado, impuestas como consecuencia de una decisión judicial, de conformidad con las políticas establecidas por el Gobierno nacional y el ordenamiento jurídico, en el marco de la promoción, respeto y protección de los derechos humanos.
