Terminado el período constitucional, los Presidentes de la República, elegidos por voto popular, continuarán disfrutando de los servicios de un Edecán, oficial Superior de las Fuerzas Militares o de la Policía Nacional, el cual será seleccionado de una terna que para el efecto les presente el Ministro de Defensa Nacional.
