El Gobierno adquirirá una zona de terreno en el Cementerio Central de Bogotá y dispondrá la erección de un monumento, donde reposen los restos del doctor Pérez Sarmiento, con esta inscripción:

"La República de Colombia a José Manuel Pérez Sarmiento. Ley 42 de 1948."
