Para efectos de la presente ley se tendrán en cuenta las siguientes definiciones:

Canales universitarios: Aquellos canales digitales, satelitales y de contenidos audiovisuales pertenecientes a las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES), o a las asociaciones de IES que las representen en esta materia, registrados ante la Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones (CRC). Su propósito no podrá ser el ánimo de lucro.

Laboratorios de comunicación universitaria: Unidades adscritas a las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES) destinadas a la producción de contenidos audiovisuales y digitales con fines educativos, investigativos y culturales.
