ARTICULO 197. Procedimiento oficioso. El reconocimiento de las prestaciones sociales a que tienen derecho los Oficiales y Suboficiales de la Policía Nacional o sus beneficiarios, será tramitado oficiosamente por la Dirección General o por la Caja de Sueldos de Retiro de la Policía Nacional, según el caso. Cuando las oficinas de personal no puedan producir de oficio las pruebas pertinentes, corresponderá allegarlas al interesado y si no existiere la prueba principal será reemplazada por la prueba supletoria que admite la ley.
