Todo cambio de nombre de una Universidad o Facultad deberá ser autorizado previamente por el Ministerio de Educación, para lo cual se elevará la solicitud correspondiente, en la que se indique el nuevo nombre y los motivos del cambio. En caso de ser autorizado, la Universidad tendrá obligación de anotar el antiguo nombre en todas las certificaciones que expida, por lo menos durante los dos años siguientes al cambio verificado.
