En desarrollo de lo dispuesto en el numeral 4 del artículo 7° de la Ley 697 de 2001, se establece como incentivo el otorgamiento de Menciones de Honor a personas naturales o jurídicas, públicas o privadas, nacionales o extranjeras, que hayan contribuido con el fomento y promoción del Uso Racional y Eficiente de la energía y demás formas de energía no convencionales. Dicha mención será otorgada por el Ministerio de Minas y Energía mediante resolución motivada, previo análisis del aporte o contribución al país.
