Se establece el día 15 de septiembre de cada año como Día Nacional del gerontólogo en Colombia, con el propósito de reconocer la labor de estos profesionales en la promoción del bienestar de las personas mayores. En esta fecha, se incentivarán actividades educativas, encuentros académicos y campañas de sensibilización sobre el envejecimiento saludable, destacando el impacto de la gerontología en la sociedad.
