Ley 49 de 1948 · Por la cual se provee a la creación del Socorro Nacional en caso de Calamidad Pública

El Ministerio de Educación Nacional procederá a fundar y organizar, de acuerdo con la Sociedad Nacional de la Cruz Roja, y como parte integrante y dependencia de la misma, la Cruz Roja Juvenil, cuyo funcionamiento será obligatorio en las escuelas primarias, en los colegios de segunda enseñanza y el Universidades. La Cruz Roja Juvenil se adscribirá al Departamento de Educación Primaria y Secundaria del Ministerio de Educación Nacional, y tendrá un funcionario cuyo nombramiento se hará de terna de candidatos presentada por el Comité Central de la Cruz Roja Nacional.

Este funcionario será pagado por el fondo creado en el artículo 2° de esta Ley.
