Independencia de las Investigaciones. La Autoridad de Investigación de Accidentes de Aviación, gozará de plena independencia, autonomía y autoridad suficiente para el desempeño de sus funciones, respecto de las demás dependencias de la Unidad Administrativa Especial de Aeronáutica Civil y de otras Autoridades administrativas o judiciales, con el fin de garantizar la transparencia, objetividad, imparcialidad e independencia en las investigaciones.
