Se llama parte por acomodamiento la que firma el Instrumento como otorgante, girador, aceptante o endosante, sin recibir valor alguno por ello, con el propósito de prestar su firma a otra persona. Dicha parte es obligada según el instrumento a favor del tenedor por valor, aunque éste a tiempo de tomarlo haya sabido que aquél no era sino una parte por acomodamiento.
