GRADOS Y CATEGORIAS DE LA MEDALLA. La condecoración "Medalla Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad" tendrá los siguientes grados y categorías

Medalla Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad Acción Distinguida de Valor.

Medalla Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad Cumplimiento Excepcional del Deber.

Medalla Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad Servicios Distinguidos. La Medalla, según los méritos específicos del condecorado o los hechos, deberes y servicios que se tomen en cuenta, tendrá las categorías de Especial y Gran Medalla.

Parágrafo

La Medalla Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad se otorgará siempre por decreto del Gobierno, previa solicitud del Jefe del Departamento y elaboración del expediente respectivo por la Comisión de Personal.
