La concesión de vacaciones las decreta el mismo gobernador, con indicación del período de causación, el término de las mismas y las sumas a que tiene derecho por este concepto, debiendo comunicar previamente al Ministerio del Interior, por conducto de la Dirección de Gobierno y Gestión Territorial o la dependencia que haga sus veces y a la asamblea departamental. Durante el término de su disfrute el gobernador deberá encargar a un secretario de las funciones de su despacho.
