En las capitales de los Departamentos y en las demás entidades en donde sea necesario, a juicio del Poder Ejecutivo, habrá un Inspector Médico Escolar dependiente de la Asistencia Pública, encargado de la vigilancia médica de los planteles de educación nacionales, departamentales, municipales o particulares, el cual desempeñara las funciones que le señale la Dirección Nacional de Higiene y Asistencia Pública.
