Ámbito de aplicación. El presente Capítulo tiene por objeto regular el régimen de organización y funcionamiento de las Entidades Promotoras de Salud que se autoricen como tales en el Sistema de Seguridad Social en Salud, cualquiera que sea su naturaleza jurídica y su área geográfica de operación dentro del territorio nacional.

Cada una de las distintas categorías de entidades autorizadas por la ley para actuar como Entidades Promotoras de Salud deberán cumplir con las disposiciones propias de su régimen jurídico, además de las normas contenidas en el presente Capítulo.
