Son causales de pérdida de la investidura de congresista:

La infracción al régimen de incompatibilidades y al de conflictos de interés previstos en la Constitución;

Faltar en un período legislativo anual, sin causa justificada, a ocho de las sesiones plenarias en que se voten proyectos de actos legislativos o de ley.

Corresponde al Consejo de Estado declarar la pérdida de la investidura.
