El Gobierno Nacional, por conducto del Departamento de Aguas del Ministerio de la Economía, tomara a su cargo la construcción de los canales de irrigación derivados del río Alvarado, en el Departamento del Tolima, sobre la base de los estudios preliminares efectuados por cuenta del Municipio del mismo nombre, completando dichos estudios para la mejor distribución y aprovechamiento de las aguas.
