Los instrumentos público originales o e copia legalmente expedida, se presumen auténticos. Deben presentarse en copia, los que, como las escrituras públicas, no pueden presentarse originales.

Si hubieren desaparecido los originales de instrumentos públicos, y alguno tuviere copia directa y legalmente expedida, se podrá pedir su exhibición para que por el Secretario se expida una copia, y en tal caso ésta valdrá como si se hubiera tomado del original por el funcionario competente.
