De la escala cartográfica. Los Planes de Ordenación y Manejo de Cuencas Hidrográficas, se elaborarán así:

A escala 1:100.000, para las cuencas que hacen parte de las zonas hidrográficas o macrocuencas Orinoco, Amazonas y Pacífico, o un nivel más detallado cuando la información disponible lo permita.

A escala 1:25.000, para las cuencas que hacen parte de las zonas hidrográficas o macrocuencas Caribe y Magdalena-Cauca.

Parágrafo

Las cuencas transfronterizas, serán objeto de tratamiento especial, para lo cual el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible coordinará lo pertinente con el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores.
