Las asociaciones de municipios pueden limitar su objeto o un determinado servicio u obra de interés común, o extenderlo a varios servicios municipales. También pueden pactarse para planear, financiar y ejecutar las obras para la prestación de tales servicios; para prestar o administrar los servicios mismos o comprender solamente cualquiera de tales actividades.
