Son funciones de la Sociedad de Mejoras Publicas de Cartagena, al entrar a ejercer las autorizaciones que le confiere esta ley, y bajo la inmediata súper-vigilancia del Gobierno Nacional, las siguientes: dictar todas las medidas conducentes a la conservación y reparación de los referidos monumentos históricos, y al embellecimiento del puerto y ciudad de Cartagena, y todas aquellas que le asigne el Gobierno Nacional, a quien se faculta para reglamentar ampliamente esta Ley.
